Jetpack’s brute-force protection occasionally challenges the WordPress for Cowork plugin calls. Two ways to handle it.
Temporarily disable Protect during setup
- Jetpack → Settings → Security → Protect.
- Toggle off during the initial connection.
- Toggle back on once Claude is connected.
Or allowlist your IP
- Jetpack → Settings → Security → Protect → Whitelist.
- Add Anthropic’s published outbound range
160.79.104.0/21. Claude connects from Anthropic’s servers, not from your computer, so your own IP address is not the one to add.
Other Jetpack modules
Image CDN, Site Stats, Subscriptions, etc. don’t interfere with the WordPress for Cowork plugin. You can leave them all on.
